In 2020 the IHC introduces a novelty. The track of short papers was replaced by the Insightful Ideas and Emerging Results track, bringing as main change the focus of the papers that can be submitted in this track.
The Insightful Ideas and Emerging Results track invites the submission of papers that present new and inspiring ideas with promising future results, informed positions, critical discussions, preliminary results, as well as work in progress with relevant contributions to the HCI community. The Insightful Ideas and Emerging Results track intends to promote discussions of high relevance to the HCI research area. Submissions must contain an original contribution not published in another forum or subject to review for other conferences or publications.
Papers may be written either in Portuguese or in English and must follow the full papers template (MS Word users must carefully follow the Interim layout.docx template and LaTex users must follow the sample-sigplan.tex template). Submissions must be anonymous and contain from 5 to 6 pages (including figures, tables, diagrams, bibliography, and annexes). Authors must submit their papers in PDF format via the JEMS system.
Each submission will be reviewed by at least three experienced researchers. In case of disparities and inconsistencies between reviews, the submission will be meta reviewed by a senior researcher to support the final decision. The articles will be evaluated based on their novelty, relevance, technical and methodological solidity, and clarity in the presentation of ideas.
Accepted papers on track Insightful Ideas and Emerging Results in HCI will be published in the Proceedings of IHC 2020 and will be indexed online. Paper publication is subject to the registration of at least one of the authors in the "Professional" category. When there is not a paid registration in the "Professional" category, at least 1 (one) author must pay the additional publication fee on top of his/her current registration.
For the publication of more than one paper linked to a same registration, the publication fee will also be charged for each extra paper.
At least one author of accepted papers must register to IHC 2020 and present the paper in a technical session. Only after the effective registration will the approved work be included in the program and in the Proceedings of the event (ACM Digital Library).
